Bell Choir Leaders

The Northside Bible Fellowship Bell Choir is an amazing opportunity for children ages 5-12 to gain friends and musical skills. Come to weekly practices and preform in Christmas or Easter events.

Practicing will begin October – December for Christmas Performance and January – April for Easter Performance.

Registration is now open and ongoing. We can take 20 kids and after that, all other registrations will be put on a waiting list. All Bell Choir volunteers have a valid police information check.

October – December Session: First practice October 6th, 2019 at 11:45 am at Northside Bible Fellowship (2911 Edmonton Trail, Calgary).

Participating in the Bell Choir is completely free.

    Photography & Video: I hereby permit Northside Bible Fellowship to use any photographic and/or video footage and audio of the above participant for Bell Choir purposes. I understand any photographic and/or video footage and audio recordings will be used solely for promotional and/or educational use and will not be sold.

    HANDBELL RULES

    1. Always treat handbells as the fine musical instruments they are.

    2. You don’t touch the inside or outside part of the bell. You only touch the handle part.

    3. You only ring your bell when the teacher points to your colour on the note chart. If you ring it any other time or disrupt the class by ringing your bell when you’re not supposed to, you may be asked to sit out for the remainder of class, and rejoin the group the next practice day.

    4. When we are not ringing our bell, we hold it up against our chest.

    5. Except for illness, no child will play in a concert who misses any practices leading up to a concert.

    6. Practice sessions for the concert start promptly. Please have your children arrive a little before that to have time to sign in.

    7. We’re a team and must work with all our teammates to make beautiful music together.

    As a member of the Bell Choir, you will be required to attend rehearsals, warm-up, performances, and other events informed by the Choir Director. If you are unable to attend a rehearsal, please call the Choir Director or send Northside Bible Fellowship an email. You understand the Bell Choir handbell rules, requirements, and attendance policy. You also agree to participate in the Bell Choir the best of your ability. Upon membership acceptance by the Choir Director, we commit ourselves to the sessions selected above.
