James Edel (Elder)
James and his wife Yvonne were welcomed with open arms to Northside in 2012, when they attended the Stampede breakfast and have been attending ever since. James has been involved in the ESL program, youth group, young adults, and Sunday School. His wife (married in 2008) leads worship. James enjoys the relationships he has built with immigrant churches: Chin Christian Fellowship and True Love Arabic Church, who currently share our building.
Andrew Hills (Elder)
Andrew has been attending this church for years, and had been there through mergers and splits. His close walk with God constantly blesses the congregation as he shares with us on Sundays from his heart. Andrew has taken on the role as lead-elder and is taking this very seriously, praying for Jesus to be known as we go through the book of John and beyond.
Kevin Marois (Elder)
Kevin is a clear and logical thinker with a big heart. He blesses the leadership team with his ability to execute tasks effectively and this is no doubt a bi-product of his 25 years of business experience. He runs a laundry machine repair company called Integrity Mechanical. He and his wife Paula have been married for years and have three children.
Yvonne Chang (Deacon)
Yvonne has been keen in lending her talents to aid the children of Northside by volunteering as Sunday school teacher. She has also taken on the role of Sunday School Superintendent. Yvonne is the church bookkeeper and is full of charisma. She is married to Vindel. She is also a mother of two and grandmother of two as well.
Troy Moore (Deacon)
Troy grew up in southern Ontario and has been a Christian since his teens. He spent 15 years with Wycliffe Bible Translators (doing linguistic research in the Central African Republic). For the past 15 years he has been attending Northside. He, along with his wife, Nathalie, has been running a small tutoring company. As a deacon, one of his passions is feeding the congregation from God’s Word. His favourite hobbies are gardening, keeping fish, and studying Biblical Hebrew.
Ryan Routledge (Deacon)
Ryan is a stalwart at this assembly and has been faithfully serving behind the scenes and sharing with us in front for many years. His mother, affectionately known as “Auntie Flo” is a constant supply of goodies and sugar, and we wonder if Ryan does not also play a part in that blessing to our children. When Ryan is not at Northside he is busy supporting the Lab system at Alberta Health Services, with his IT/computer skills. Thank you Ryan for your dedication to us.
Daniel Shorten (Deacon)
Daniel, an eligible bachelor, brought a fleet of gifts to the church when he began attending and serving Northside a short time ago. He is committed to the good in the Brethren background of this church. He also wants to make church a place where he can invite his friends too. Daniel hopes to see God doing new things in our midst. We feel blessed to have this charismatic leader. When Daniel is not at work in IT (a developer) he can usually be found in Kananaskis or Red Deer, his hometown.
